The Bible Is God's Word

I want to take this time to look at the facts of ...
The Bible being God's Word,
The duty of every believer to obey it and to defend it.
And to those who are not saved the penalty of not abiding by it.

Throughout history one can see the beauty of the trustworthiness of The Bible, God's Word. It has stood the test of time. It remains to this day the all time best seller. It's timeless wisdom still proves to be the greatest teacher to the hungry of heart. It speaks to every issue that man has ever had, and will ever have to deal with. It is God's authoritative Word to one, and to all. promising life to all who heed it, and destruction to the rejecter's.

Scripture text(s) -

Psa 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The WORD of GOD:
      The ONE thing We Can Trust.
     A. The many Religions, The One GOD. Most religions have a "book" that is revered, and looked to for divine guidance.
     B. Other religions (even so-called christian groups) rely on "good-works" to gain acceptance by their god, as taught by their "holy-books".
     C. The Bible tells it's adherents to "TRUST" in God. (through Jesus Christ) as taught in "the scriptures" (from Gen. 1:1- Rev. 22:21).
     D. Jesus ( Who is THE Word made flesh John 1:14) quoted from the scriptures.
           1.The need of the Word to LIVE.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God Mat 4:4

2. The need of The Word to guide his children.

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2Ti 3:15

           3. Abiding In His Word brings answered prayers.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

The Child of God Has A Duty To Obey,
              and Defend HIS WORD
     A. Obedience to God's WORD, is a sign i.e. (fruit- or the lack thereof)
          1. The LORD Jesus said We WOULD know them by their fruits ( as judged according to scripture).

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Mat 7:16

2. Another sign is that of ones professing allegance to God, and denying Him by walking in darkness i.e. outside of God's Word.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1Jo 1:6

3. The Bible teaches what to do with one who walks in disobedience of the scriptures.

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 2Th 3:6

A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Tts 3:10

B. The Bible Is Our Standard.
1. Again the bible teaches us we have every answer we may require in the God's Word.

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2Ti 3:15

2. The Psalmist through the Holy Ghost declared.

NUN. Thy word [is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psa 119:105

3. Spite the growing disregard for it, God's Word is still our final authority.

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];
2Ti 3:13

C. The faithful Love God, and Keep His WORD.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. Jhn 14:15

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Jhn 15:10

And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
Dan 9:4

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luk 6:46

D. The Child Of God is To Defend God's Word.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jud 1:3

1. The Church is The Pillar and Foundation of Truth.

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 1Ti 3:15

The Worldly and The Word of God
A. The worldly consists of the un-saved, and the back-slid.
1. The Bible is the book with the real answers. The religious side of mankind tries to find answers that curtail to their pet-doctrines i.e. (sodomite ministers), and make them feel good about themselves, i.e. self-righteousness. God's Word to YOU.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11.There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13. Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:
14. Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:
15. Their feet [are] swift to shed blood:
16. Destruction and misery [are] in their ways:
17. And the way of peace have they not known:
18. There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
21. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22. Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23.For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 3:10

2. This is the reason for so many religions in the world today. All false religion is demonic and not of God. It is always man's way of trying to buy God off. There is only ONE WAY TO GOD.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
7. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. Jhn 10:1

3. Satan is the author of ALL FALSE RELIGIONS (John 8:44)

Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

4. Only The Redeemed can Understand God's Word.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

1Cr 2:14

5. The Religious Of This World wrestle with God's Word and Only add to their Destruction.

As also in all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2Pe 3:16

6. Take Heed That You Do Not Add or Take Away From God's Word. This is A guarantee of God's Judgment coming upon you.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: Rev 22:18

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

Rev 22:19

7. The Un-redeemed will be judged by God's Word.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Rev 20:12

MY FINAL THOUGHT -

Are you desireous of learning about God?

Have you been playing games with God?

Are you are false teacher?

Are you a back-slid christian?

Are you a mocker of God's Word?

Do you feel Him dealing with you? Turn to Him, and repent of your sins, ask Him to save you and cleanse you from your sins. Put your faith in Him and He will give you understanding in all things. Today IS THE DAY OF SALVATION!

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. Jhn 6:44
